SAN JOSE A big house task near the Winchester Mystery House that will bring hundreds of houses to San Jose has landed the cash required to build the complex, public records show. The Hanover Co. is developing a 366-unit apartment building on South Winchester Boulevard in between Interstate 280 and Olsen Drive.
1 million in financing from Canada-based Otera Capital Investments, according to files submitted with the Santa Clara County Recorder's Office. Buoyed by the financing, Hanover has broken ground on the seven-story apartment at 500 Charles Cali Drive. Hanover in July paid $28. 4 million for 3. 45 acres where the business is establishing the apartments, which were designed by KTGY, an architectural firm.
"This is a neighborhood that perfectly blends historic components with contemporary touches," said Fred Metzger, director of style at KTGY. The Winchester Apartments complex also is near Santana Row, a destination mixed-use office, retail, restaurant, real estate, entertainment and property center. The apartments are being developed next to a housing task that will be established by Pulte Homes.
